Favorite sayings: “It’s-a’me!” and “Here we Go!” Served in both great wars, here and abroad. Became an avid plumber later in his life. Raced carts and fixed pipes, but strangely disappeared for 10 years. Reappeared but lived in seclusion on a mushroom farm in the remote countryside. He lived as he died, chasing a hoe.
